Well, I’m sure we ticked off some Flash Developers with the last post. Of course, we don’t doubt their skills or their end product, but for some (and that means most of you), it’s just not for you. Today’s Website Tip is about Simplicity. This has a lot to do with our previous tip. Simplicity means cleanliness, forget clutter, and of course speed.
Here’s why we recommend to keep it simple:
- Easier to find information. When someone’s browsing your website, give them a chance to find what they are looking for.
- Don’t Overwhelm a customer. By keeping it simple, make sure that you only show 1 or 2 (tops) important aspects of your business per page. Breakdown is best for simplicity and, of course, for Search Engine Optimization.
- It’s SEO Friendly – Some people might disagree that it’s irrelevant, but User Friendliness has a big impact on Search Engines ranking your page.
- A clean website spreads a message. The message is simple. Hey look, we’ve created this nice, clean website. We pay attention to detail but we also think we should keep it simple. Many of you will relate to your business / business model with that statement. This just tells your customers and visitors that you want to keep it simple.
I’m sure all of you get the point. In the end, we feel that it’s better.
Thank you.
